Choo Keng Kwang Artists
Born 1931, Choo Keng Kwang is an eminent first generation artist in Singapore, best-known for his oil paintings of doves and China town scene. Choo was a teacher and principal of a local school and also, dean of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Choo pursue his interest in painting and has held numerous solo and group art exhibitions in Singapore and abroad. His painting is highly sought by collectors like national leaders, corporates, including the first moon-landing astronaut Neil Armstrong, Chairman Mao Tse-Tung, President Anwar Sadat of Egypt and the late President Ong Teng Cheong. As a committed educationist, and a philanthropist, he was conferred with the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 1976 and the Long Service Award (PBS) in 1986.
